Buy King Stropharia Clemson - wine cap stropharia

Image
About the product One of the easiest mushrooms to grow for beginners, experienced growers have used this mushroom as a learning tool for cultivating in hardwood chip beds or mulch.  What makes this mushrooms perfect for beginners is also the ease of identification, nothing looks like it.  It quickly colonizes wood chips and fruits a little in the spring and typically a bumper crop in the fall. Perfect mushroom for gardening and permaculture projects, it can also be used to mulch the floors of livestock pens and chicken runs, as this mushroom is predatory on coliform bacteria and can help keep your coops clean and not as smelly!  We have also grown this one indoors on pasteurized straw cased with soil.  The mushroom tastes like potatoes cooked in a mild red wine sauce and the stem is stringy like asparagus, so sautéing lightly in a little salted butter and serving it on mashed potatoes or on toast with eggs is a treat! About the product Maitake (my-tah-keh) is the Japanese name for the edible fungus Grifola frondosa.  It is called the dancing mushroom probably because of the excitement generated by finding it. It works for me. It has a distinctive smell and flavor. In addition to being a great edible there is growing evidence that it is highly medicinal, boosting the immune system to fight cancer and stabilizing blood sugar and blood pressure.  Maitake may have antihypertensive and antidiabetic properties as well. Maitake is composed of clusters of flattened caps that can be reminiscent of a feather duster or a sitting hen. The fruit body can be 4-36 in. across or more.  From the bottom, the stem and branch structure may remind you of the underside of a cauliflower.  Common Name:  Hen of the woods Scientific Name:  Grifola frondosa  How to use this product:  Edible mushrooms, Medicinal Mushrooms  Specifications:  Mushrooms, mushroom seeds, culture To o...
